There are many ways that you can become involved with DuPage Habitat for Humanity�. You may join one of several working committees, participate in one of our financial campaigns, volunteer in the office, and/or volunteer for building on-site. We encourage you to stop by the office for additional information or to visit our Gift Shop. The DuPage Habitat office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Building Volunteers:
The bulk of our construction volunteers are drawn from churches or corporations that have partnered with DHFH.  However, all other volunteers are needed in the different areas below.

Committee

Family Support
Committee
Provide guidance to help families satisfy requirements toward home ownership, track hours, serve as “advocate,” “sponsor,” friend,” communicate and represent family’s interests to DuPage Habitat, assist with move into new community, as needed, etc.
Site Selection & Development
Committee
Identify and recommend properties, develop build-able properties, obtain municipal approvals and construct infrastructure as needed, work with engineers, land planners, and local government.
Construction Planning Committee Work with Site Selection & Development to design residence and obtain permits, plan construction schedule, hire subcontractors, purchase materials, supervise building volunteers, work with architect, local government, etc.
Volunteer Relations Committee Recommend volunteer policies, draft handbook, develop training classes, welcome new volunteers and conduct orientations, manage and schedule volunteer opportunities
Fund Development Committee Develop long-range plan and direct programs to raise funds, fund raisers, direct mail appeals, and capital campaigns; develop and nurture relationships with, and recognize large donors.
Faith & Community
Relations Committee
Form and nurture partnerships, present volunteer opportunities, and guide the formation of sponsorships by faith-based communities, and the Habitat “Youth United” and “Campus Chapter” program.
Corporate Relations Committee Form and nurture partnerships with the business community. Present volunteer opportunities and secure corporate sponsorships for families and events.
Public Relations

Develop annual public relations plan and campaign for each project and event, schedule and provide media coverage for events and activities, develop VIP media packages, draft press releases, draft quarterly newsletters, develop and manage fund raisers and special events; and develop and maintain website
Government Relations Committee Develop annual public relations plan and campaign for each project and event, schedule and provide media coverage for events and activities, develop VIP media packages, draft press releases, draft quarterly newsletters, develop and manage fund raisers and special events; and develop and maintain website.
Finance, Legal & Administration Committee Provide guidance and support in financial matters, risk management, human resources, IT support, financing, audit, prepare annual report, etc.

Identify, maintain a list of, and recommend members of the community to serve as qualified members of the Board of Directors, and develop and conduct board development program

The regular monthly meetings for ALL committees are held the second Tuesday of each month, starting at 6:30 pm. The meetings take place at the BP Cantera II Conference Center, located on 28301 Ferry Rd. Warrenville, IL 60555-3018 (just north of I-88 (East-West Tollway) and west of Winfield Road).  Please show a picture ID as you walk in the building.  Please see the links below for a map and directions.
