DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. DuPage Habitat for Humanity® serves DuPage County, Illinois and works in partnership with people in need to build modest and affordable housing. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest.

To help build Habitat houses individual, faith community, and corporate donors provide the money and materials, and volunteers provide some of the labor. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor, called "sweat equity", into the building of their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Our vision statement is "to make DuPage County a better place to live by building community."

The mission statement of DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is to provide opportunities for home ownership to limited income families or individuals, and to put the reality of substandard housing in the minds and hearts of DuPage residents in such a powerful way that unattainable home ownership for these families or individuals becomes politically, socially and religiously unacceptable.

Donate your building materials to one of our neighboring affiliates.  Habitat for Humanity has two ReStores in the Chicagoland area, one in Elgin and the other in Gurnee.  ReStore, a home improvement resale store, accepts gently used building materials, non-upholstered furniture, and cabinets removed during remodeling.  The materials are then sold at bargain prices to the general public, and proceeds go toward building Habitat homes.  For more information, call the Elgin ReStore at (847) 742-9905 or visit www.ReStoreElgin.org and call the Gurnee ReStore at (847) 623-1020 ext. 122 or visit www.habitatlc.org.
