A few considerations about our online
donations system
DuPage Habitat for Humanity® will
receive the ENTIRE amount of your donation--no credit card or
"administrative" fees will be deducted.
There is a minimum donation
amount of $5.00 through our online system.
Habitat's high-security Web site
protects your credit card information.
Habitat's Web site protects your
transactions with the highest levels of security. The site uses an advanced
encryption technology: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry standard for
safe online transactions. Using SSL, Habitat International Web site encrypts
all of your personal information, including your credit card number, name, and
address, so that it cannot be intercepted as the information travels over the
Internet between your browser and the their site.
Here's how to double-check that your
browser has established a secure connection to our site, enabling you to
support Habitat's work by donating online safely:
In
Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Microsoft Internet Explorer will display a gold padlock icon in the bar at
the bottom of the IE window. The padlock icon confirms that you are
connected safely to "secure.habitat.org", using encryption to keep your
information safe as it travels between your browser and Habitat for
Humanity® International's Web site. |
In Netscape
browsers, versions 4 and higher:
The padlock in the lower left corner of your browser window will be closed
(locked) instead of open (unlocked). You also can click the "Security"
button in your browser's toolbar; a pop-up window will confirm, "This page
was encrypted."
In Netscape browsers, version 3:
The lower left corner of your browser window will show a solid key with a
blue background instead of a broken key with a grey background. |
