Target Stores, a subsidiary of Dayton-Hudson, has in place a program that enables the company and it's employees an opportunity to give back to the communities where new stores are being constructed. They have named this program "Building A wonderful Life". We were able to partner with Target Stores when they decided to build a new store in Lombard to help build a new habitat home and a wonderful life for a local family needing a hand up for home ownership.

The TreeTowns Coalition of Congregations was enthusiastically formed to help raise the remaining additional funds for construction of this home, plus all the committees needed to make it really happen!

With the assistance of the City of Lombard, DuPage Habitat was able to purchase a lot in Lombard at a cost that remained affordable. the building committee decided that a bi-level home was best for this site. This home provided for kitchen and living areas on the main floor, an unfinished half basement under the bedrooms on the top floor, and detached 2-car garage.
